A human adult or animal is one that has grown in all its potential. The human world of adult is a reference to social and legal concepts. Legal adults is, as opposed to "minors" or non-adults, is someone who is older than the average age and thus considered to be independent, responsible and autonomous. Also known as "majors", they can also be said as having reached the age of majority. 18 years is considered an adult legal age however, this definition may differ according to the nation, lawful rights or the development of a person's psychological.

The lifespan of human beings, adulthood refers to the age when a person has achieved full physical and intellectual maturity. Adulthood, as typically understood, is at the age of either 20 or 21. Then, after middle age (starting at around 40) is the time to reach the age of old age (around age 60). The three phases of adulthood include early adulthood (from the mid 30s until late 60s), middle adulthood from mid-30s until late-60s and then later adulthood, (mid-60s up to death). When we reach the early phases of adulthood (between 20 and 40) the bodies of our children have reached their full maturity even though the weight and height of our bodies may rise slightly. In young adulthood, our physical abilities are at their peak which includes the strength of our muscles, our reaction speed sensors, as well as heart function.
